She was born "Anasol Escobar" in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but grew up in Colombia. She privately released two albums, Astros and Escorpion de Primavera, prior to being signed to Univision Music Group; the albums did very well underground. Anasol says that her greatest inspiration is the post Ray of Light work of Madonna. Her first album with Univision, the self-titled Anasol, debuted on August 30, 2005. It included her first hit single Sentimiento. The song, with music and lyrics by her, reached #31 on the Billboard Latin Pop chart.
